Hearing Discovery Center
Distinctive Services for Individuals with Hearing Loss

The Hearing Discovery Center (HDC) helps older adults respond to the leading disability of aging – hearing loss – through support, counseling, informational resources, educational programs and a free lending library of assistive listening devices.
The Hearing Discovery Center is a branch of the Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Lending Library and a member of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), and the American Tinnitus Association (ATA).
Free Lending Library
In a one to two- week trial, borrowers can determine whether a device meets their needs before buying the device on the open market. Some examples of devices the HDC lends out include:
• Amplified telephones
• Smoke alarms with strobe lights
• Flashing alarm clocks
• TTY’s
• Personal listening system (FM system or the Listenaider)
The HDC does not sell or buy hearing aids but as a collection site for the Hearing Now Foundation, old hearing aids can be refurbished and given to those in need.
Support Groups
The Hearing Discovery Center organizes the Hearing Loss Association of Delaware County, usually the 1st Sunday of the month (September through June) 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and a Tinnitus Support Group quarterly (January, April, July and October) 7:00 p.m.
